Armenia has no territorial problem with Azerbaijan – Speaker of National Assembly
“Armenia has no territorial problem with Azerbaijan: the [Nagorno Karabakh] issue relates to the people’s right to self-determination, Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) Ara Babloyan stated at a meeting with members of the parliamentary delegation of the U.S. California State.
“The human being is the highest value, and the protection and security of human rights are important for us. In the civilized world, the peace has no alternative; therefore, the NK conflict should be solved through peaceful means: in the OSCE Minsk Group format,” Babloyan added.
As the press department at the National Assembly reported, Ara Babloyan highlighted the relations being strengthened year by year between Armenia and the U.S., underlining the contribution and the significant role of the Armenian Diaspora in that.
Additionally, Ara Babloyan emphasized the U.S. support in the establishment and development of democracy in Armenia. “I highly assess the U.S. assistance in the creation and establishment of the independent Armenia’s health care system. The first Rehabilitation Center in Armenia was set up by the U.S. assistance, changing the way of thinking and attitude towards the children,” the Speaker noted.
The Head of the parliamentary delegation of the U.S. California State Scott Wilk thanked the RA NA Speaker for the reception and introduced to him the members of the delegation, and many of them were Armenians by their origin. At the end of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the role of the Armenian community of California in the deepening of the relations and cooperation with Armenia, the release said.
