Armenian cyclist Edgar Stepanyan to take part in European Championships
Leading Armenian cyclist Edgar Stepanyan will take part in the European Adults Cycling Championships 2017 for the first time, led by his personal coach Armen Gyozalyan.
The Armenian cyclist is currently holding trainings at Olympavan Sports and Recreation Facilities in capital city Yerevan, the National Olympic Committee reported.
Edgar is initially set to compete in four events: scratch race, omnium, 4km pursuit and team race, however the Armenian athlete will focus more on omnium.
“Edgar should collects points to be qualified for the World Championships, which will serve as springboard to Tokyo Olympics,” the coach said, highlighting Armen’s positive attitude towards the championship.
The European Championships are scheduled for Berlin, Germany on 18-22 October.
