Armenia ends fifth in Group E of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers
Armenian national football team played draw on Sunday against Kazakhstan at Astana Arena in the final World Cup qualifying match in Group E. The national team captain and Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the score on the 26th minute. Kazakhstan struck a 61st minute equalizer.
The result left the Armenians fifth with 7 points from ten games in Group E, four ahead of Kazakhstan that sits on the last sport of the group.
In other matches of the group, Poland ensured their place at the World Cup with a 4-2 win against Montenegro, while Denmark took their place in the playoffs after a 1-1 draw against Romania.
