The 12th edition of Japanese Film Festival kicks off in Armenia
The 12th Japanese film festival will be held in Armenia from October 19-23 this year devoted to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Japan. In the scope of the festival 7 highest rated films by critics and the audience will be screened in Yerevan, Gyumri, and Echmiadzin. As the Chairwoman of the Armenian –Japanese “Hikari” scientific-cultural center Karine Piliposyan informed, the jubilee events started in September with exhibitions of samples of decorative art and paintings.
“The film festival will launch at Moscow Cinema. For the first time “Arar” Ensemble will participate in the official opening of the festival ceremony to perform Komitas works as well as Japanese national songs,” Piliposyan said.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi,
present at the press conference, said the film convey ideas about the culture, living habits, mentality and the traditions of a certain state.
“The festival is a great tool to get familiarized with the people and its country. The films of the current edition are mostly of musical themes to discover certain aspects of the Japanese people,” the Ambassador said.
