World veteran champion gets a warm welcome home at Yerevan airport
Armenian wrestler Zhora Hovhannisyan, who won a gold medal at the 2017 World Veteran Wrestling Championship, received a warm welcome at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport on Tuesday saluted by dozens of Armenians, mostly from Lori region.
The veteran championship was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. As the National Olympic Committee reported, the Armenian wrestler competing in the 62kg weight category, won the final bout against Hedge Nelson of the United States at a total score of 9:1.
To note, the victory is Hovhannisyan’s 15th champion’s trophy.
