Armenian, Belarusian ministers discuss the prospects for enhancing the cooperation
The representatives of Armenia’s and Belarusian executive bodies believe the trade turnover between Armenia and Belarus does not correspond to the actual potential of the two countries. As the Armenia ministry of economic development and investment reported in a press statement, the opinion was shared at a meeting of the Armenian Minister of Economic Development Suren Karayan, Agriculture Minister Ignati Arakelyan with the Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky held in Minsk.
To remind, the Armenian delegation headed by the two ministers is paying a working visit to Belarus to attend the 13th sitting of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties stressed the need to activate the trade and import of goods with third countries of the Eurasian Union. The prospects of utilization the Meghri free economic zone was touched at the meeting.
At the meeting with Belarusian Minister of Industry Vitaly Vovk, the Armenian ministers discussed issues related to the delivery to of Belarus-manufactured transport and agricultural machinery to Armenia as well as their adaption to the Armenian conditions.
The matter of organizing an Armenian-Belarusian business forum was an agenda topic during the talks, the release said.
