Armenian players taking part in int’l chess tour in Russia
Mikhail Chigorin Memorial international chess tournament has kicked off in Saint Petersburg, Russia, bringing together 360 chess players from 20 countries, including 33 GMs.
According to the Chess Federation of Armenia, six chess players represent Armenia at the tournament – GM Arman Mikaelyan, FIDE Master Artur Davtyan, young chess players Hovhannes Hakobyan, Sargis Mkrtchyan, Hayk Yeritsyan and experienced chess player Vladimir Poghosyan. After two rounds, 61 players are leading the table with two scores, with Arman Mikaelyan among the leaders.
