Tree planting event held in Warsaw on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the Armenian community
The Warsaw Mayor’s Office jointly with the Embassy of Armenia organized on Tuesday a symbolic tree planting event in the Poland’s capital “My mother” park on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the special privilege granted to the first Armenian diocese in Poland by Polish King Casimir the Great in 1367.
As the press department at the foreign ministry reported, during the ceremony Warsaw Vice Mayor Michael Olshchevsky, Ambassador of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan delivered opening remarks.
Ambassador Ghazaryan expressed gratitude to the Mayor’s Office in his speech for the assistance in organizing the annual environmental initiative. The Ambassador pointed out to the positive contribution of the Armenians throughout the Polish history that was documented also by a special resolution adopted on October 19 by the Polish Senate .
The tree planting event was attended number of ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic corps, Polish officials and members of the Armenian community of the country.
The event was concluded by a prayer and blessings by Fr. Tachat Tsaturyan, member of the Brotherhood of Mother See and Armenian Spiritual Pastor of Poland.
