Border village Baghanis preparing for fruit tree planting
Active gardening works are underway in Baghanis border community in Armenia’s Tavoush Province, the village head said in a Facebook post.
According to Narek Sahakyan, works of soil cultivation, digging and painting of fences and pillars are being carried out in the village as part of the “Integrated Support to Rural Development: Building Resilient Communities” project implemented by the UNDP in Armenia.
“A tree planting is scheduled for the early November. This area was provided with irrigation water supply due to the funding of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund in 2016,” he added.
To note, hazelnut and cornel trees are planned to be grown covering a total area of three hectares with fences to be installed around the plantation and the drip irrigation system.
