Economic cooperation potential between Lebanon and Armenia not properly realized, minister says
Lebanese Armenians play an important role in strengthening relations between Lebanon and Armenia, the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Michel Aoun said at today’s meeting with the Armenian delegation headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan in capital Beirut.
According to the ministry’s press service, President Aoun called on the businessmen of the two countries to cooperate actively with each other.
Suren Karayan in his turn stressed the importance of economic cooperation and investment opportunities.
“We consider that the potential of economic cooperation between Lebanon and Armenia has not yet been properly realized. Together with Minister Pharaon we have agreed to develop economic cooperation in those areas where there is still much work to do. The role of the Armenian and Lebanese businessmen is particularly important in promoting this cooperation,” Minister Karayan said, presenting the foreign economic cooperation of Armenia and the opportunities available at the target markets.
The sides also discussed opportunities for boosting cooperation in tourism sector.
