Chigorin tournament concluded in St. Petersburg
The M. Chigorin Memorial Tournament concluded in St. Petersburg, Russia. As the Chess Federation of Armenia reports, this year the tournament brought together 360 chess players form 20 countries, including 33 Grand Masters. Three representatives of Russia – Kirill Alexeyenko, Davit Paravyan and Alexey Saran as well as Indian player Seturama scored 7,5 points and took the first four positions in the table. Alexeyenko was named the winner of the tournament on additional indicators, bypassing Paravyan who took the second place.
The representative of Armenia GM Arman Mikayelyan left behind the leaders by half a point and shared the 4-14 positions. Mikayelyan increased his own personal rating by 12 positions, the release said.
