Armenian Ambassador rules out any dialogue on the Armenian Genocide with Turkish authorities
No dialogue on the Armenian Genocide is possible with Turkish authorities because of its denialist policy and repeated falsifications of historical realities, Armenian Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan stated on Thursday. The Ambassador’s remarks came during the discussion held on the occasion of the screening of “Promise” film Oscar Isaac and Charlotte Le Bonin Damascus al-Kindy cinema.
The press department at the ministry of foreign affairs reported, the Ambassador pointed to the anti-Armenian discourse and denialist policy of Turkey’s current leadership, adding despite the provocations over the last decades the process of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide has entered a new stage due to the efforts of the Armenia-Diaspora collaboration.
The discussion that followed the screening was attended also by Nora Arisyan, the chairwoman of Syria-Armenia parliamentary friendship group and Syrian famous director Basel al-Khatib.
The participants noted the film is one of the best movies about the Armenian Genocide produced in the past years.
