Divorce rates on the rise in Armenia: statistics
The average age of Armenia’s permanent population was 36.2 years as of the beginning of 2017 (35.9 years in 2016) – 34.3 years for men and 38.0 years for women, the statistics show.
According to the figures released by the National Statistical Service (NSS), in January-September 2017, the population viability rate, i.e. the ratio of birth and death rates stood at 133.9% against the 145.5 % recorded in the indicated period of 2016.
Meantime, Armenia had a rate of 263 divorces per 1,000 marriages this year, with 222 divorce cases recorded in January-September 2016.
