Lapshin exposes Azerbaijan’s plan to exchange him with saboteurs imprisoned in Artsakh
Russian-Israeli blogger Alexander Lapshin, who was given a prison term in Baku and later on pardoned and returned to Israel, has exposed a secret plan of the Azerbaijan authorities to exchange him with two Azeri saboteurs, Dilham Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev imprisoned in Artsakh.
“In February 2017, the Azerbaijani authorities applied to Russia, offering them to meditate to exchange me with two Azerbaijani citizens,” the blogger wrote on Facebook.
Lapshin reminded that according to the Azeri media reports, they were peaceful tourists, meantime highlighting the fact that they were armed with Kalashnikov machine gun.
“In Stepanakert court they told that a child had seen them, so they had to kill him. Afterwards they ran across forests, hid themselves to end up in one of the villages, where they again killed several people. The third “tourist” was gunned down by the Armenian military in a shootout. In brief, the so called “tourists” who came from Azerbaijan armed with Kalashnikov, were sentenced to life in prison by the Karabakh court,” he detailed.
According to Lapshin, the Russian side could in no way understand the link between Lapshin and the Azerbaijani saboteurs. “And, most importantly, under which article should Armenia release murderers from prison in exchange for me, when I am not an Armenian citizen?” he added.
