Passenger traffic up 22.7% in Armenian airports in ten months
Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in Gyumri welcomed increased number of passengers in January-October 2017 compared to the data of the indicated period of the previous year.
As Panorama.am learnt from the General Department of Civil Aviation, both airports served 2,154,092 passengers for the ten months of the current year, showing a 22.7 % rise against the January-October 2016 data.
In October 2017, the passenger traffic through Zvartnots Airport accounted for 220,726 passengers – a 7.4 % increase over the numbers of October 2016.
The released data also show that 18,910 tons of cargo was transported through Zvartnots Airport during the ten months of 2017, up by 42.2% over the volumes transported in January-October 2016.
Passenger traffic through Shirak Airport comprised 77,072 people in January-October 2017, serving 7689 passengers in the indicated period of 2016.
Meanwhile, the total number of flights and landings of the both airports in January-October 2017 has also recorded an increase accounting for 19.2 % to compare with the numbers of the previous year.
