Georgi Yermolenko says Armenia’s experience the renewable energy development illustrative
Armenia’s experience in the sphere of renewable energy and energy efficiency is quite illustrative, Georgi Yermolenko, the Chairman of the Renewable energy development center at the Russia’s ministry of economy stated on Monday at the Electro-Energy Council meeting of the Commonwealth of the Independent States (CIS) held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Armenian Minister of Natural Resources and Infrastructure Ashot Manukyan reflected on the issues of nuclear energy development, diversification of the energy resources and the efficiency raising of the production of the gas thermal power plants.
Minister Manukyan pointed to the steps aimed at continuous rise of electricity share generated from renewable sources in the country’s local consumption system.
As the Ministry of energy resources reported in a release, the meeting addressed more than sixty topics related to the technical safety of the operation of electro-gas stations, the reliability of the equipment, the diminishing of the environmental impact, etc.
According to the source, the meeting was attended by energy ministers of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the vice premier of Uzbekistan, the Saudi minister of energy, industry and natural resources as well as deputy energy ministers from Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
