International Film Festival “KIN” announces over 500 submissions for this year
The 14th edition of the Armenian International Film Festival “KIN” will open in Yerevan on November 14 to run through November 18. This year the festival has received over 500 submissions with 60 of them included in the competition program.
As the organizers inform, the aim of the festival is to address through films issues of violence, inequality, discrimination and other problems related to women’s rights and gender problems. The festival’s goal is to promote women's creativity, establish a network between women filmmakers from different parts of the world and give hand to a better understanding of different cultures and each other.
The festival, that accept submission only from woman filmmakers, include “Short Films Competition Program for Documentary, Fiction and Animation films under 30 min,” “Guest Program,” “Retrospective screening of films of world famous woman film maker,” “Program from Guest Film Festival,” etc.
Nominations are set for “Best Film”, “Special Prize,” diplomas and “Best Russian Film” with the latter to be awarded by the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Yerevan. Documentary, Fiction and Animation films, which were produced during last two years and have length less than 30 min are eligible to participate in the competition program.
