U.S. officials support Hayastan All-Armenian Fund's Telethon 2017
Ahead of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s annual international telethon many public figures, renowned sportsmen and officials has released messages calling to make donations for the prosperity of Armenia and Artsakh.
This year the Fund’s Thanksgiving Day Telethon will be held on November 23. Proceeds from the event will be used for building irrigation and solar-energy infrastructures across Artsakh, within the framework of “Fruitful Artsakh,” the organization’s new flagship program.
As the Fund reports in a press statement, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, members of the U.S. Congress Adam Schiff and Tulsi Gabbard have jointed the initiative.
In her message Tulsi Gabbard notes that the Fund has implemented projects worth 350 bln USD over the past 25 years of its activity. “Each contribution to the Fund will prosper the economy of Artsakh and Armenia, creating new jobs,” says Gabbard in her message. Congressman Adam Schiff in his message points to projects aimed at improving the lives of Artsakh people.
To note, thanks to 700,000 donators who contributed over the past 25 years, the Fund has implemented more than 50,000 projects, including construction 605 km of roads in Armenia and Artsakh, 580 km of water treatment and supply systems 147 km of natural gas transmission lines, 70 km power transmission lines, 359 school and kindergartens, 169 educational, cultural and scientific projects, etc.
