Canned vegetables production rises 75.1% in Armenia
Canned food production output totaled to 14 629.4 tons in Armenia in January-September 2017, a 32.6 % increase from the year before, the statistics show.
According to the data released by the National Statistical Service, a total of 7 313.7 tons of canned vegetables were produced in the accounting period – a 75.1% rise compared to 4 177.7 tons produced in January-September 2016.
Canned fruit production comprised 3 927.8 tons, recording a 17.8% rise against the indicated period of 2016. Meantime, canned fish production made up 206.9 tons (76.2% growth), canned crab – 16.5 tons (81.4% fall) and canned meat – 319.2 tons (27.5% decline).
According to the statistics, a total of 2 247.4 tons canned tomato paste was manufactured in the reporting period, which is a 12% rise over the past year’s volumes.
Some 328.4 tons of ketchup were produced within nine months of this year against the 348.4 tons produced in the indicated period of 2016.
