Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Armenia on 20-21 November, a spokesperson for the country’s foreign ministry said Thursday.
“He is scheduled to meet with the Armenian president and foreign minister. The visit marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia and the 20th anniversary of signing the Treaty on Friendship,” Maria Zakharova told a briefing in Moscow.
Sergey Lavrov will also attend the opening of an exhibition in Yerevan dedicated to the Armenian-Russian friendship, as well as the cancellation of a stamp dedicated to the two anniversaries.
The foreign ministers of Armenia and Russia are also expected to sign the plan of consultations for 2018-2019.
“The bilateral agenda features a wide range of issues, including cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, the CIS and the CSTO, as well as coordination of positions on scopes of the UN, OSCE, EU, BSEC and other international forums,” she said.
Ms. Zakharova noted Armenian and Russian foreign ministers will also discuss issues of regional security, including the perspectives of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
