Armenia's economic activity up 7% in ten months of 2017
The economic activity index (EAI) of Armenia grew 7% in January-October 2017 against same period of 2016, according to the data released by Armenia’s National Statistical Service (NSS).
As the NSS statistics show, the index at the same time dropped by 7,5% in October compared to September of the ongoing year, Panorama.am reports.
The utmost growth was registered in the industry sphere in the indicated period. Namely, in January-October of this year, the industrial production volume grew by 12,4%, increasing by 3,7% compared to the same period of the previous year and 16,5 % to compare with the figures of October 2016.
Electricity production sphere also saw a 5,4% rise. Compared to January-October 2016, this year the service volumes (excluding the trade) rose by 13,9%.
The trade turnover increased by 12,8% within ten months of 2017 compared to the same period of 2016. The consumer prices, according to the NSS statistics, also rose by 0,7% against January-October 2016.
The gross agricultural output cut down by 4,1% in Armenia in January-October 2017 against the same period of 2016.
The construction volumes also saw a decline by 0,9 % for the indicated period.
As for the external trade turnover, it rose by 22,4 % in January-October 2017, with the exports growing by 19,4 % and imports by 24%.
According to the NSS data, the average monthly salary in Armenia rose by 2,6 in January-October 2017. The average monthly nominal wage in the public sector totaled to 159,000 AMD, a 0,1% decline against the past year, and in the private sector the salary comprised 226,400 AMD, which is an increase of 3,6% from 2016.
