Henrikh Mkhitaryan appears on the 50-strong shortlist for the UEFA Team of the Year
Four players of Manchester United, Armenian national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan among them, have been nominated for the UEFA Team of the Year for their performances in 2017 in European competition for the Reds and internationals for their countries.
As Manchester United press office reports, along with Mkhitaryan, David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, and Paul Pogba are included in the shortlist.
The source says, Mkhitaryan has been particularly effective in Europe since arriving from Borussia Dortmund.
To note, the Team of the Year is selected via a poll on UEFA's official website , allowing fans to choose their own XI based on overall performances in European club football and international competitions.
To remind, Mkhitaryan was among the three contenders for the Europa League Player of the Season that was ultimately awarded to his teammate Paul Pogba.
