President Sargsyan: Leonid Azgaldyan was one of the legendary commanders of the Artsakh liberation war
President Serzh Sargsyan has extended congratulations on the 75th birth anniversary of Battle Cross 1st degree Holder Leonid Azgaldyan, the presidential press service reported.
“I hereby offer my congratulations on Leonid Azgaldyan’s 75th birth anniversary.
He was one of the legendary commanders of the Artsakh liberation war who wrote one of the heroic pages of our people’s history with his activity, struggle and martyrdom. His volunteer fighting units referred to as “Independence Army” and “Liberation Army” played a significant role in defending Armenia’s borders and Artsakh.
His statement about Artsakh has become an aphorism and a slogan for us ever since: “This is Armenia, and that is all.” This brief remark reflects his ideology and civic position, the entire way of meaningful life and immortality of Leonid Azgaldyan, the true patriot, serious scientist and talented organizer,” the president said in his address.
