Armenia, EU signed Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement
Armenia and European Union concluded Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in Brussels a little while ago. The document was signed within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Summit by the foreign minister of Armenia Eduard Nalbandian and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Frederica Mogherini.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of President Serzh Sargsyan and President of the EU Council Donald Tusk.
Following the signing, Frederica Mogherini and Edward Nalbandian made press statements.
To note, Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement calls for “increasing the participation of the Republic of Armenia in policies, programs and agencies of the EU.” The document will require Armenia to meet EU economic and financial regulations and policies. It also calls for Armenia to join efforts in combating international terrorism, preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction, and promoting conflict resolution.
