Drivers warned of icy roads in some regions of Armenia
Some highways in the territory of Armenia are partly covered with black ice as of 10am November 24, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to the source, there are no closed or hardly passable roadways in the country.
Precipitation is expected in most parts of the country at night of 24 November and in Vayots Dzor, Syunik and Artsakh in the daytime, taking the form of snow in mountainous regions and sleet – in foothills.
Black ice has taken hold on Aparan-Spitak, Sisian-Gorhayk, Zanger-Saravan, Noyemberyan-Jujevan-Voskepar highways, with snowfalls reported in Kapan, Goris, Kajaran (Syunik region) and Jermuk (Vayots Dzor region) towns.
The drivers are strictly recommended to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the mentioned regions.
Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department reports that Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles, except trucks.
