EU’s position on Karabakh issue is very clear – Ambassador Świtalski
The Armenia-EU agreement contains a very clear statement on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski told a news conference in Yerevan on Monday, commenting on the possible impact of the agreement on the NK conflict settlement.
According to the diplomat, the position of the European Union on the Karabakh issue is very clear. “The European Union is totally in favour of the peaceful settlement, in favor of the work of the Minsk Group and the Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group and is ready to contribute to intense and very concrete support to the process of confidence-building and also post-conflict rehabilitation,” he highlighted.
“We believe that the settlement of the conflict is very important for the development of Armenia and the whole region and also for the stability of the European neighbourhood as such. So the language contained in the agreement reflects the very high level of the common denominator between the EU and Armenia,” he said.
