Diamond and jewelry production grows in Armenia
The volumes of diamond and jewelry production have grown in Armenia, according to the data release by the country’s National Statistical Service (NSS).
The newly released data suggest, 127,601 carats diamonds were produced in January-September 2017, which is 49% increase over the volumes produced during the indicated period last year. The total production amounts for the first nine months of the ongoing year amounted to 85,630 karats.
It is noted that the raw materials for diamond processing in Armenia are imported mainly from Russia, Belgium, and Israel.
According to NSS data, 1 605.7kg of jewelry were produced in Armenia in January-September 2017, which is 2.7 times more to compare with the last year’s volumes.
