Iran attaches special importance to cooperation with Armenia – Iranian FM
Iran attaches special importance to the comprehensive partnership with Armenia, Iranian Foreign Minster Mohammad Javad Zarif said at today’s meeting with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.
The top Iranian official expressed conviction the high-level mutual visits enable to further strengthen and enhance them, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
Minister Zarif expressed gratitude for the condolences and solidarity from Armenian over the recent deadly earthquake in Iran.
The meeting addressed the process of the implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of Armenia and Iran on the development of bilateral relations.
Both sides noted with satisfaction that during the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries the Armenian-Iranian relations have dynamically developed involving new spheres.
The foreign ministers also pointed to the sharp rise in tourism volumes since the liberalisation of the visa regime last year.
On the same day, Edward Nalbandian and Mohammad Javad Zarif attended the opening ceremony of the Armenian-Iranian business forum.
To note, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif paid a visit to Armenia on Tuesday at the invitation of his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.
