Levon Aronian to play at the 9th London Chess Classic
Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will take part in the 9th London Chess Classi, which kicks off at the DeepMind Google HQ on 1 December 2017 and continues at the Olympia Conference Centre from 3 to 11 December 2017. The London Chess Classic is the concluding leg of the 2017 Grand Chess Tour and features a prize fund of $300,000.
Apart from Aronian, the tournament features world champion Magnus Carlsen, his predecessor Viswanathan Anand, and Sergei Karjakin, who challenged Carlsen for the title last year. The remaining contestants are Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Hikaru Nakamura and Michael Adams.
