Young Armenian swimmers start with victories at Iran int’l championship
The International Junior Swimming Championship has kicked off in Tehran, Iran in participation of athletes from Iran, Armenia, Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Azerbaijan.
Speaking to the press service of the National Olympic Committee, Hovsep Mesropyan, the President of the Swimming Federation of Armenia, noted that ten young Armenian swimmers are taking part in the championship.
In the first day of the competition, young swimmer Edward Asatryan (aged 11-12) became a silver medallist in the 50-meter Brass style event, with Grigor Grigoryan-Mushegh Kaganyan-Vahe Khachatryan-Stepan Abrahamyan quartet gaining the champion title in the same age group at 4×50 metres freestyle relay. The quarter also had no match in 4x100 metres relay.
