Armenian defense minister holds meetings with CSTO colleagues
A regular joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states has kicked off in Minsk, Belarus.
The meeting, in attendance of heads of the CSTO member states, secretaries of security councils and defense ministers, will address a range of issues regarding the CSTO activity, including the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and illegal migration, the Armenian defense ministry’s press service reported.
Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, who is in Belarus on a working visit, held working meetings with his colleagues from the organization’s member states, including Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the organization. The CSTO member states are Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
