EIB involvement in Armenia’s energy projects discussed in Yerevan
The European Investment Bank (EIB) considers new avenues of cooperation in Armenia’s energy sector, the Vice-President of the EIB Vazil Hudák stated on Friday in the scope of the visit to Armenia.
At a meeting with Armenia’s Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan, the guests were presented with the country’s expected investment projects in the energy sector and discussed the EIB’s possible involvement in the projects.
Minister Manukyan specifically pointed to the reconstruction of the substations of “High Voltage Electric Networks” CJSC, the construction of “Shnogh” hydro power plant, the ongoing construction of the Armenia-Georgia high-voltage line, and plant generating electricity by household waste recycling. it is noted that Armenia considers the realization of the pilot project - construction of the first IPP with 16 MW capacity based on international experience.
At the meeting issues on enhancing cooperation and involving bank in the new investment projects in the energy sector were discussed, said the ministry.
