Roadways partly covered with clear ice in Armenia
Armenia’s Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies told Panorama.am that as of 09.00 December 1, no closed or hardly passable roads are reported in the territory of Armenia. The ministry details no precipitation is expected on December 1-5.
According to the source, clear ice is observed on certain sections of roads of Sevan, Tchambarak, Vardenis, Gavar of Gegharkunik regions as well on Sotk-Karvachar highway.
The drivers are strictly recommended to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the mentioned regions.
Meanwhile, Armenia’s ministry of emergency situations (MES) recalls the report by the Roads Department at Georgia’s ministry of infrastructure, saying Stepantsminda-Lars is open for all types of vehicles.
