Black ice takes hold on some roads in Armenia
There are no closed or hardly passable roadways in the territory of Armenia as of 9:30am December 2, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
According to the source, no precipitation is expected in the country on 2-5 December, while precipitation in the form of sleet in the highlands and rain in the lowlands is predicted on 6 December.
Black ice has taken hold on Vardenyats pass, the roads of Sevan, Tchambarak, Vardenis and Gavar towns in Gegharkunik region, as well as Sotk-Karvachar highway.
The drivers are strictly recommended to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the mentioned regions.
Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department reports that Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
