Bread production continues to decline in Armenia
Official statistics reveal the downward trends in bread production volumes persist in Armenia.
Against the 232.4 thousand tons of bread produced in 2016, only 226.8 thousand tons were produced in January-October 2017, which is a 2,4% decline, according to the figures released by the National Statistical Service.
During the indicated period, the flour production also decreased by 3,1% making up 135.2 thousand tons.
Meantime the production volumes of confectionery increased by 16,9% within the ten months of this year to total to 14 629.7 tons, with gains production rising by 39,4%.
In January-October of this year, a growth was also recorded in pasta production volumes. Namely, 2708.3 tons of pasta was produced in the accounting period compared to the 2662.1 tons produced in the same period of 2016.
