Passenger flow into Armenia on the rise
Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in Gyumri welcomed increased number of passengers in January-November 2017 compared to the data of the indicated period of the previous year.
As Panorama.am learnt from the General Department of Civil Aviation, the total number of passengers the two airports served in November was 193 173 which is 13.1 growth to compare with the data of the indicated period last year.
In October 2017, the passenger traffic through Zvartnots Airport accounted for 178 748 passengers – a 6% increase over the numbers of November 2016.
The released data also show that 20 573 tons of cargo was transported through Zvartnots Airport during the eleven months of 2017, up by 29.8 % over the volumes transported in January-November 2016. Passenger traffic through Shirak Airport comprised 14 425 people in November 2017, serving 2,175 passengers in the indicated period of 2016.
Meanwhile, the total number of flights and landings of the both airports in January-November 2017 has also recorded an increase accounting for 18.7 % to compare with the numbers of the previous year.
