Armenian skiers competing for Olympic qualifications
Armenian skiers are participating in a training camp in and participate in international tournament underway in Finland.
Secretary General of Armenian Ski Federation Gagik Sargsyan told National Olympic Committee, the Armenian athletes performed good results at qualification tournaments in Sariselka and Ruka towns
“Obvious progress is observed with our skiers. Last year Mikayel Mikayelyan scored 120 points in the Ruka tournament, while the score has been 84-85 this year. The same is true about Tadevos Poghosyan, likewise Katya Galstnyan’s results are quite encouraging,” the Secretary General noted.
In Sargsyan’s words, Armenian team's leader Sergey Mikaelyan is close to gain Olympic qualification. For that he needs to be included among the best 300 of the World Skiing Ranking which will allow Armenia to represent another athlete at the upcoming Olympics.
