Some roads hardly passable in Armenia
Some roadways are hardly passable and partly icy in the territory of Armenia as of 9:30am 7 December, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The precipitation is expected to taper off on second half of December 7, only persisting in Vayots Dzor, Syunik and Artsak. On December 8, light snow is predicted in the most regions, with no precipitation forecast for December 9-11.
Sotk-Karvachar section of M11 highway, as well as Vardenyants and Jajur passes are difficult to pass.
The Aparan-Tsilkar, Talin-Lanjik, Vanadzor-Stepanavan and Noyemberyan-Kirants roadways, as well as Spitak and Dilijan turns and Gegharkunik province are partly covered with black ice.
Snowfall is reported in Syunik province and Vayk, Jermuk cities of Vayots Dzor province.
The drivers are strictly recommended to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department reports that Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for trucks and vehicles with more than 30 seats.
