Analyst: Iranian president to attend emergency session on Jerusalem in Turkey
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will depart for Turkey on Tuesday to participate in an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Jerusalem, an Armenian expert on Iranian studies said on Facebook.
Armen Israyelyan detailed that the Azerbaijani president is also invited to attend the OIC session voicing his strong support for the interests of Muslims in a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“It is interesting how Baku is going to satisfy the demands of its strategic ally Israel on one hand and Turkey’s demands on the other hand. And for Iran this is an excellent opportunity to get a year-end test from Baku’s leader, who destroys mosques and suppresses religious figures,” he wrote.
