Prime minister: We have a clear idea of how to develop our economy
The Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic has seen considerable economic progress this year, President Bako Sahakyan said on Friday at the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, also highflying the Armenian government’s support to the country’s economic achievements.
Upon the request President Sahakyan, the Armenian premier presented details on the activities of the Meghri Free Economic Zone (FEZ) launch in southern Armenia on 15 December, the government’s press service said.
Noting that a number of agreements have already been signed on the activities of the FEZ, PM Karapetyan stressed the opening of the economic zone is an extremely important step that will leave multiplicative effects.
“This year we will also have some figures showing positive trends. This certainly does not mean that we have little left to do, but we have a clear idea of how to develop our economy,” the top Armenian official stated.
The Armenian premier and the Artsakh president discussed a wide range of issues related to energy, healthcare, territorial administration, agriculture and a number of other spheres, in this context highlighting the exchange of experience and a closer cooperation between the relevant agencies.
