New amendments to Armenian law propose electronic filing with civil and administrative cases
The new proposed package of amendments in Armenia’s Civil Procedure Code envisages a new system - electronic filing of appeals to be heard in courts countrywide, Deputy Minister of Justice Artur Hovhannisyan stated today during the hearing of the amendment in the first reading at the National Assembly.
Hovhannisyan, who acted as the main reporter of the -proposed amendments, said the electronic system of filing appeals are subject to trial in both civil and administrative courts. As Hovhannisyan noted, the proposal was included into the package during the initial hearing of the bill at the suggestion of opposition “Yelq” fraction.
“Filing an application electronically requires an electronic signature with the possibility to provide the scanned copies of all documents, including evidence. The original documents will be subject to submitting upon the court decision in case authenticity questions arise,” Hovhannissyan informed.
Furthermore, the new system allows the court to forward the verdict to the Compulsory Enforcement Service adjacent to the Justice Ministry.
In the interim, Deputy Minister Hovhannisyan said the shift to paperless files will improve Armenia’s positions in Doing Business ranking, simplifying the procedure of restoring violated rights of the citizens.
