Motor vehicle freight volumes rise by 46.3 % in Armenia
The freight volumes totaled to 19 940.8 thousand tons in Armenia from January to October 2017, showing a 37.8%growth against the same period of the past year.
As the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia report, the recorded increase was mainly prompted by the rise in motor vehicle freight volumes. In particular, the volume of automobile freight amounted to 18 925.1 thousand tons in January-October 2017, rising by 46.3% compared to the indicated period of 2016.
The rail freight volumes comprised 2 126.2 thousand tons in the indicated period, showing a 1.6% decline against January-October 2016.
According to the NSS statistics, the highway pipeline freight shipping made up 1 370.6 thousand tons (16.1% growth) and the air freight volumes amounted to 18.8 thousand tons (41.4% growth) in January-October 2017.
