Drivers warned as snow, fog hits some roads in Armenia
Some roadways are partly icy in the territory of Armenia as of 8:30am December 23, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Precipitation and fog is predicted on 23-24 December, at night of 25 in most regions of Armenia, with the weather expected to clear up in the daytime of 25, on 26-27 December.
According to the source, black ice has taken hold on some sections of Sotk-Karvachar highway and Vardenyats pass.
Fog has descended over Ararat region and Jermuk town of Vayots Dzor region. Snowfall is reported in Jermuk town and Saravan-“Zanger” section of M2 highway.
Based on the predicted unfavorable weather conditions, drivers are strictly recommended to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department reports that Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles, except trucks.
