Pietrodarchi promises concert of surprises to Armenian audience
Famous accordion and bandoneon player Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, who is on a visit to Yerevan, Armenia, will perform with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA) at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on 25 December.
Speaking to Panorama.am, the Italian musician said to be very happy to spend Christmas in Yerevan this year.
“It is a pleasure to be here. We are very good friends with Sergey Smbatyan. The same refers to the orchestra. I already know everyone. When I performed with this youth orchestra for the first time I greatly enjoyed it, since they are young and passionate. Our passion and music met each other to make a very nice combination. I think this time will be no different,” he said.
Pietrodarchi and the SYOA are offering a very interesting concert program to the Yerevan audience. According to the musician, the first part of concert will see the performance of the “Four Seasons” by Astor Piazzolla, followed by another composition titled “Le Grand Tango”, which Piazzolla dedicated to Rostropovich.
At the beginning of the concert’s second section Tommaso Ziliani's “Mille Miglia” will be performed. To note, Ziliani has arrived in Armenia together with Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi.
The concert program also features Roberto Di Marino’s “Concerto for Bandoneon and String Orchestra”, which has been composed specially for Pietrodarchi.
The musician also promises other surprises and a very beautiful encore to the Armenian audience.
