Satik Seyranyan elected president of Union of Journalists of Armenia
Editor-in-chief of 168 Hours newspaper and TV host of R-Evolution Political TV show at Armenia TV, Satik Seyranyan has been elected the new president of Union of Journalists of Armenia.
She gained a total of 57 votes in favour and one against in a voting held today at the building of the Writers’ Union of Armenia.
The only other nominee for the post was Harutyun Tsatryan, a member of the Union of Journalists and a reporter at the Public TV Company of Armenia.
After the voting results were announced, Satik Seyranyan presented the key provisions of the program on the union’s future activities.
Earlier some 45 mass media representatives voiced their support for Seyranyan’s candidacy.
