U.S. ambassador looking to shared future with Armenia
The U.S.-Armenian relations rest upon shared values and mutual respect, the staff of the US Embassy in Yerevan said reflecting on the 25th anniversary of U.S.-Armenian diplomatic relations ahead of the New Year.
In a released video, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, Jr. together with the Embassy staff are summing up the achievements of the past 25 years and sending their New Year greetings to the people of Armenia in the Armenian language.
“In the past 25 years we have provided over US $1 billion in support for energy and social reforms, for improving the business environment and promoting the independent media and civic engagement,” the employees said.
Rafael Sambu, Economic and Commercial officer at the US Embassy in Armenia, said that in the past two years the Embassy helped to ensure US $600 million in investments due to which new jobs were created in the country.
“Based on the 25-year-old U.S.-Armenian friendship, I am looking forward to what we can achieve together in the future,” Mr. Mills said.
