Cigarette production up 18.1% in Armenia last year
Tobacco production increased by 18.1% in Armenia in January-November 2017 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia.
As Panorama.am was informed from the NSS, 21 million 62.3 thousand units of cigarettes were produced in Armenia within the eleven months of 2016, whereas a total of 24 million 867.5 thousand cigarettes were produced in the country in January-November 2017.
The cigarette production share in the general production sphere made up 14.7% in Armenia due to the registered growth.
According to the statistics, more than 50 percent of Armenian men and almost 4 percent of women above 16 years of age are smokers.
