Levon Aronian slips to 4 in top 100 FIDE chess ratings
In the latest World Chess Federation (FIDE) ratings released Monday, Armenian grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian slipped to 4th among the best chess players in the world, from 2nd in the previous rankings.
Magnus Carlsen is still world’s No. 1, followed by Fabiano Caruana and Shahriyar Mammadyarov.
Standard Top 100 Men January 2018 features three other Armenian chess players. In particular, Gabriel Sargsyan (2677) comes the 67th, Vladimir Hakobyan (2667) - the 77th and Hrant Melkumyan (2654) - the 97th.
