Armenian figure skaters preparing for European Championship
The 2018 European Figure Skating Championships will be held in Moscow, Russia from 15 to 21 January with athlete Slavik Hayrapetyan and Tina Karapetyan / Simon Proulx-Senecal dancing pair representing Armenia in the tournament.
The participation of another Armenian figure skater, Anastasia Galustian in the Moscow tournament is not confirmed yet, Armenian Figure Skating Federation President Melanya Stepanyan told the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
She further added that Tina and Simon still have a chance to make it to PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games as the pair representing Israel who had been qualified for the Olympics have not submitted an application for participation yet.
Ms. Stepanyan said everything will become clear when the International Olympic Committee releases the participants’ list presented by the International Skating Union (ISU).
She also added that Armenian athlete Slavik Hayrapetyan recently took part in FBMA Trophy 2018 international tournament hosted by Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he showed a good performance collecting a total of 208.63 points and outcompeting his only rival from Ireland.
