600 patients with acute respiratory diseases are getting stationary treatment in Armenia’s medical institutions
The spread of acute respiratory diseases across the republic is triggered by active interaction among the population during the New Year holidays, Armenia’s ministry of healthcare reported in a release, adding the daily monitoring revealed the disease is widespread especially among children aged 0-2.
According to the source, around 600 patients with acute respiratory diseases are hospitalized in Armenia’s medical institutions with majority of them children. Pneumonia and bronchitis are among the most typical diseases currently treated at hospitals with the conditions of patients assessed as mild. No patients with severe pneumonia prompted by flu complications have been recorded thus far.
The ministry also said the medical institutions are equipped with antiretrovirals ensuring the full treatment of acute respiratory diseases and flu.
Laboratory examination suggest A and B type flu cases have been on the rise in Armenia since November. The flu symptoms are fever, chills, cough, sore throat, stuffy nose, runny nose, aches and fatigue. It is recommended to stay home in case of signs and symptoms of the disease.
